Ice Anchor Testing Fox Glacier

Ice Anchor Testing Fox Glacier

Every year, Fox Glacier Guiding takes thousands of people onto the Fox Glacier. As part of their operation, they guide people on hikes around the glacier where they use ice screws for hand lines (safety lines) and for top rope ice climbing where they use a mixture of ice screws and V-threads.

We teamed up with Fox Glacier Guiding to undertake ice anchor testing. This testing was phase 1 to get a winter baseline to verify anchors were fit for purpose. This ice anchor testing was undertaken at Victoria Flat, Fox Glacier, New Zealand at an altitude of 700m.
